The research group working on different areas of electronics has been facilitated by laboratories outfitted with a large amount of equipment that provides opportunities and capabilities to enhance education and research. The capabilities of the laboratories include high frequency measurements, DC and mixed signal measurements, IR imaging system applications, noise measurements for both mixed signal and high frequency applications, characterization with different equipment. In addition, there is a process laboratory, a clean room, used to fabricate low volume, simple devices. Moreover, Sabanci Univesity Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM) procures advanced fabrication capability for complex devices via several different laboratories.

RF/Microwave Integrated Circuits Laboratory

RF/Microwave integrated circuit (from MHz to 175 GHz) performance tests are carried out at RF/Microwave Integrated Circuits Laboratory. The laboratory houses high frequency measurement setups and equipment as well as several characterizaton equipment. In addition, for educational and research purposes a part of the laboratory has been arranged as office space for researchers equipped with study desks and computers with standard CAD softwares

IC Design and Test Laboratory

Electrical performance tests of integrated circuits (Analog, Digital-Mixed Signal IC), sensors, actuators are carried out in IC Design and Test Laboratory. The Laboratory includes measurement setups and equipment. In addition, for educational and research purposes a part of the laboratory has been arranged as office space for researchers equipped with study desks and computers with standard CAD softwares

IC Packaging Laboratory

Gold stud bumping, flip chip and ball bonding of the integrated circuits, sensors and, actuators are carried out in this lab. The laboratory includes flip-chip die bonder (Tresky T3002-FC3), ball bonder (F&S Bondtec 5310), microscope (Zeiss Axioscope 5 and Stemi 305), PCB prototyping machine (LPKF S104) and re-flow oven (Euro-Circuits Re-flow Oven). Laboratory environment is designed to meet class 100,000 specifications.

Clean Room

Process Laboratory is a class 1000 Clean Room and it includes all necessary facilities to fabricate sensors, actuators, and MEMS structures as prototypes with 1 micrometer-lateral and state of the art process and characterization tools such as laminar flow workstation, chemical cleaning and etching capability with fume exhaust and laminar air flow, high temperature furnaces, photolithography with Karl Suss mask aligner, sputter system, optical microscope and other fundamental process tools.
